What training is required for authorized IS users.
Annual refresher cybersecurity awareness training is required for all authorized IS users (NISPOM 3-107e). The Cyber Awareness Challenge training can be accessed from the DISA web site.
What training is required for IS users who derive classified information?

Derivative classification is the act of incorporating, paraphrasing, restating, or generating in new form, information already classified by an OCA and marking the newly developed material consistent with the markings of the source information. The overwhelming majority of classified documents handled and classified daily are derivatively classified vice originally classified.

  • Derivative Classification (NISPOM 4-102)
    • Trained initially and then at least once every 2 years.
      • CDSE IF103.16: Derivative Classification (1.5hrs)
      • CDSE IF109.16: Derivative Classification Refresher (50min)
  • Marking Classified Information
    • Trained initially and then at least once every 2 years.
      • CDSE IF105.16: Marking Classified Information (2hrs)

How do I get a DISS account?

See Section 4.1.1 in the DISS Account Management Policy document.

 

How often do I have to login to DISS?

In order to maintain an active DISS account, you must login every 30 days. After 30 days your account will be inactive and you will be locked out. You will have to call the DCSA Customer Engagements Team at 724-794-7765 to unlock your account. After 45 days your account will be terminated and you will have to  request a new account.
